Claudio Zanolari began his cooking career in the Engardine where he attended school and worked in several restaurants. He graduated from Zurich’s Belvoirpark Hotel School in 1988. In 2000 he returned to Poschiavo to take over management of the Croce Bianca from his parents. Claudio used his newly acquired skills to rejuvenate the hotel, creating an environment that blends the best of the past with the wishes of today’s guests. The renovation continues, and every year the hotel becomes more welcoming and relaxing. Today you can enjoy a small wellness area, a quiet and calm guest garden and newly renovated suites. Karin and Claudio want to create a welcoming environment and would love to hear your ideas.
Karin Zanolari studied at the Teachers Training College in Chur before working several years as a teacher in Poschiavo. In 2004 she took a big step – choosing a career in hospitality. She has found many new challenges, but has learned to love hotel work and helping guests feel welcome.
In 2002, the Zanolari family took over management of the historic hotel Albrici on Poschiavo’s main square. Karin and Claudio were married in 2006 and now manage both the Croce Bianca and Albrici with great passion.
